Dervish transports you to a more charmed-state of mind with iconic songs from their homeland. Made up of talented musicians and fronted by lead singer Cathy Jordan, Dervish’s sculpted sound and undeniable Celtic spirit is contagious. Jordan’s distinctive voice contrasts with the compelling combination of the low-range bouzouki, high-range mandola and the dynamic rhythmic backing of accordion and guitar. Fiddles, whistles, flutes, and harmonicas round out the band’s sound, and some impromptu Irish step dancing may just make an appearance.

Join us for more! Join us in the Davies Lounge at 6:30 pm for a pre-show musical instrument "show & tell" with Celtic musician and City of Kingston Teaching Artist Roger James. Stroll through the lounge, take a peek, and learn about some of the instruments you'll see and hear during Dervish's performance. Access to this pre-show event is limited and available on a first come, first served basis. Doors will open for this pre-show event shortly before 6:30 pm. You are also encouraged to stay for a talkback from the stage immediately following the performance hosted by Roger James.
