Produced by CORPUS. First premiered in Toronto in May 2022.

Presented by the Centre culturel Frontenac and the Kingston Theatre Alliance as part of the 2024 Kick & Push Festival.

Four goddesses descend from the heavens and tour the downtown of Kingston, having received word that the world is in dire need of their help. Through a suite of new songs by Dora-winning composer Anika Johnson, they offer blessings, prayers, guidance and the occasional rebuke.

Featuring a diverse cast of powerhouse female performers, Divine Interventions is a sincere offering for these chaotic times. It is the intention of this work to offer a sense of magic, beauty, and the reignited hope that perhaps we are indeed being cared for by something divine.

“Divine Interventions by Corpus.. offers just the balm we need in these uncertain times. The work is such a perfect blending of music, dance and theatre that it is impossible to place it in any one genre. Its purpose, amazingly accomplished in only 30 minutes, is to give the audience a magical vision that, like the best theatre, takes us out of ourselves and causes us to view the world in a new light.”
