Bassist Henry Heillig is best know for his 30+ year stint as musical director of Manteca. The Heillig Manoeuvre is a quartet founded by bassist Henry Heillig in 1998 with the intention of performing and recording Heilligs original jazz compositions. He describes the bands repertoire as more songbook than doctoral thesis.
