Four-time JUNO Award Nominee, jazz crooner, Matt Dusk is embarking on the most ambitious project of his already impressive career. Called JetSetJazz, Dusk’s new album takes the listeners on a musical journey through the ‘50s and ‘60s, the Golden Age of The Great American Songbook.
Featuring both originals and standards of the day, JetSetJazz, is a time capsule to when big-band swing was the pop music of the day and all the airlines had plenty of legroom.
Not just an album of Sinatra tunes, Matt Dusk offers up ten brand-new songs that manage to capture a timeless feeling while also sounding as if they were written all the way back when Sinatra was in his prime. Written by Dusk and GRAMMY Award Nominees Jenson Vaughan and Vince Degiorgio, these original songs are exactly the type of music Sinatra himself would be singing today.
The First Class edition features six additional standards recorded by 40-time Grammy-winning engineer Al Schmitt, with arrangements by GRAMMY Award winners Patrick Williams and Sammy Nestico, Dusk and his 54-piece orchestra offer up the perfect retro album for every Rat Pack fan.
JetSetJazz is Dusk’s 12th studio album in 16 years. The multi-platinum-selling artist has sold more than one million records worldwide and racked up a series of awards and nominations along the way.
Besides receiving four JUNO Award nominations, Dusk is the recipient of a Rose Gali Award in the music category, one of the most prestigious awards in Poland, and is the first male jazz artist in history to score a number one hit on contemporary hit radio in Japan. He has shared the stage with legends such as Tony Bennett, Elton John, Diana Krall and regularly tops the Jazz charts all over the world.
But to really enjoy Dusk’s music, it’s important to see him perform live. Each concert is filled with the passion that can be heard on his albums, but with an energy that has to be seen to be believed. Considered one of the top live performers in the business, Dusk swaggers across the stage with the confidence of the boys in the Rat Pack playing a sold-out engagement at the Las Vegas Sands Hotel in 1966.
The stack of gold and platinum records—along with the numerous awards and nominations—isn’t going to slow down Matt Dusk anytime soon. He is prepared to do what he does best: Offer the listener an experience that is both an amazing, nostalgic flashback and a modern classic waiting for ears to discover. JetSetJazz is the perfect addition to any collection…with no baggage fees!
