A Grand Theatre Presents performance.
Out/Inner/Space Dance Theatre & Film Society is devoted to creating exciting and integral contemporary dance works. Determined to be innovative yet accessible, they push beyond traditional aesthetics and forms with unreserved ingenuity. Through research and experimentation, Out Innerspace celebrates the importance of challenging the preconceptions of what can be expected, experienced and expounded in contemporary dance.
Major Motion Picture includes infrared technology and an on-stage surveillance system alongside Out/Inner/Space's trailblazing movement invention. With influences ranging from Charlie Chaplin to Die Antwoord, Orson Welles to Slavoj Zizek, the music of Bernard Herrmann meets urban underground and an original copmosition by Belgian producer Tristan Vloeberghs.
Major Motion Picture Includes Three Works:
The Representative is a central character of Major Motion Picture. He is a headless, multi-legged, giant coat performed by three dancers that can function as independent repertoire. He is the team's walking collaboration that personifies characteristics of propaganda, corporations, and institutions of all kinds.
Neverhood is a creative & conceptual tool central to the work. The improvisation practice Neverhood acts as a moving collective consciousness made of connected and competing desires of the ensemble. It moves over all types of terrain, fixing itself to objects, echoing and amplifying everyday life while constantly building and unbuilding itself.
Digital Graffiti has the possibility to be offered as in-theatre, indoors or outdoor activity. It requires the set-up of the interactive digital graffiti platform of the Major Motion Picture video design system for the public to use to draw and capture its own content.
