The Music Movement is a student-led fundraiser concert featuring over 30 incredibly talented musicians from Queen's University. Mark your calendars for Thursday, March 14, 2024, as we take the stage at the Kingston Baby Grand Theatre for an evening filled with soulful melodies and heartfelt performances.
But this event is more than just music. We're coming together to support a cause close to our hearts: the Pamoja Tunaweza Women's Centre (PTWC) in the Kilimanjaro region of Tanzania. PTWC is a beacon of hope, providing crucial healthcare services to thousands of individuals and advocating tirelessly for female reproductive rights. One of their current initiatives, the Kilimanjaro Cervical Cancer Screening Project, is saving lives by providing access to cervical cancer screening for thousands of women.
Dr. Jennifer Carpenter, MD, and professor at Queen's University, co-founded PTWC, and we couldn't be prouder to support their vital work. Every dollar raised during our concert will go directly to PTWC, providing essential support to continue their life-changing initiatives. Donations will be directed through the Women's Health Equity Through Mobile Approaches (WEMA) Trust Fund at Queen's University. The WEMA Trust Fund at Queen's University was established to provide additional funding for projects and initiatives such as the Kilimanjaro Cervical Cancer Screening Project at the Pamoja Tunaweza Women's Centre in Tanzania.
But we can't do it alone. Please consider making a donation that will contribute to a cause that is making a real difference in the world. Together, we can create positive change and empower women around the world. Donate with this link: https://givetoqueens.ca/2024musicmovement
