Oliver Jones’ six-decade musical career has been rich and varied. His classical music education started young, surrounded by talent. Oscar Peterson, who is considered one of the greatest jazz musicians of all time, was an inspiration to Jones. Oscar’s sister, Daisy Peterson Sweeney, became Jones’ first piano teacher. From his teens to his early twenties, Jones could play anything from swing to rock ’n’ roll, although in those days playing jazz was not considered a viable career.

Since coming out of retirement, Jones has been nominated for four Juno awards including a win for Traditional Jazz Album of the Year for Second Time Around in 2009.

An award-winning, talented jazz performer, Oliver Jones is one of the greatest Canadian artists around and an absolute must-see in concert.
